Fevzi Turkalp, the Gadget Detective, joins Vernon on BBC Berkshire to discuss the latest tech news and reviews. This week; a look at how the technology industry has been affected by the pandemic, how it's changing now the pandemic is easing, and how some manufacturers have been ripping off the consumer with inferior components. Also in the news, the Wall Street Journal report that internal Facebook communications acknowledge its Instagram service is toxic for one in three teenage girls, increasing anxiety and even causing self injury and suicidal thoughts in some, and allegedly instead of allowing outside parties to help improve matters, the company obstructed efforts.
Gadget of the Week is the HyperX Alloy Origins 60 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard. With an aluminium chassis and USBC connection, this keyboard is 60% the size of a standard keyboard, and lacking a number pad but allowing for more space for the mouse on your desktop, this keyboard has mechanical keys and is designed for gamers, with individual per key RGB backlighting that can be programmed via their NGENUITY software, it even has an onboard memory and the ability to remove and replace or move the keys.
