The graduating class of 2023 was the first “full pandemic” cohort, meaning they lost the last quarter of their freshman year to the beginning of COVID and spent their entire sophomore year in distance and hybrid learning. Despite this significant challenge, 86.18% of students districtwide graduated in four years. This represents a very slight decrease of 0.09 percentage points from 2022, is less than one percentage point away from the district’s all-time high of 87.07% in 2020, and is 4.86 percentage points above the state average.

Disaggregated data shows gains in eight of ten categories of traditionally underserved populations, with the largest overall growth seen for students identifying as Black/African American/African, those who were English learners at any time in high school, and students with disabilities. First semester ends on Thursday, February 1st. There will be no school for all students on Friday, February 2nd and Monday, February 5th as teachers prepare grades and get ready for second semester, which begins on Tuesday, February 6th.
