Welcome back to A Pod of Their Own, an all-women led Home Run Applesauce podcast where we talk all things Mets, social justice issues in baseball, and normalize female voices in the sports podcasting space.

This week, we begin by discussing Billy Eppler’s resignation and the investigation into the Mets for improper use of the injured list. We also talk about Pete Alonso changing agents and Francisco Lindor’s surgery to remove a bone spur from his elbow.

Next, we talk about the playoffs, including the soft behavior demonstrated by the Braves in the NLDS and the lamentable fact that there are really no teams remaining we’re interested in rooting for.

We also cover Jerry Dipoto’s recent comments, Kim Ng’s departure from the Marlins, Alyssa Nakken becoming the first woman to interview for an MLB manager position, and the MLBPA filing an amicus brief supporting overturning MLB’s antitrust exemption.

Finally, we wrap things up with Walk-off Wins, where each of us talks about what’s making us happy this week, baseball-related or otherwise.

You can listen or subscribe to all of our wonderful Home Run Applesauce podcasts through Apple Podcasts, where we encourage you to leave a review if you enjoy the show. It really helps! And you can find us on the Stitcher app, Spotify, or listen wherever you get podcasts. You can also support our work by subscribing to our Patreon, which will get you bonus episodes, access to our Discord server, livestream experiences, an exclusively monthly playlist, and more!
