“No. I am your Father.” Easily one of the greatest lines in all of film history and it doesn’t stop there when it comes to a real and true Man, Myth and Legend that is James Earl Jones. A King on more than one occasion on-screen Jones’ voice and presence are always undeniable. Playing royalty seemed easy as the man exuded regality. Sadly Jones passed at the age of 93 on September 9, 2024. As huge fans here at Just Another Friday Night we couldn’t think of a better topic than to celebrate the life of a true American icon. From voicing Darth Vader in Star Wars to being King Mufasa in The Lion King, Jones’ voice was unmatched. His theater work is impeccable and his silver screen work is indelible. We’re going to discuss our favorite pieces of his enormous body of work and invite you to share yours.
