In our This Is The Way teaching series, we are exploring the gospel of Matthew to discover the attitudes, behaviors, and principles that Jesus modeled for us to follow. In today’s sermon, we look at the first principle of following the Way: death to self. The Way of the cross is the way of sacrifice and self-denial. Choosing to deny oneself and embrace suffering, rejection, and persecution in this life can only make sense if there is an eternity & a purpose that is worth so much more.
