Beraccah Kisia

Beraccah Kisia is a Kenyan - Born folk singer/songwriter. Her journey began with accompanying her mother's made-up chore songs as a waddling toddler and eventually lead to her composing her first song by the age of nine. Beraccah went on to study music at George Fox University; a stage upon whose transcendence she ventured into Music Education, offering private lessons as well as coaching numerous talents at the Kenya Conservatoire of Music and the Katangoma Music and Movement Arts Program.

Beraccah released her first album in 2012 under a pseudonym (August Cellars) and is known for performing at various venues in Nairobi and around Kenya including Industry Night, Thursday Night Live at Choices, The Women In Music Forum, The Sama Eden, Blankets and Wine Festival, The Nairobi rock Showcase among many others. Among her released works are The Mountain EP and Special Day, a single off her upcoming project "TheJourneyEP." Beraccah Kisia is inspired by country, rock, blues, and 80's pop music and looks up to Joan Armatrading and Sade as women of color who created the space for original healing music and alternative artists like Beraccah.
