Jacob Slade is a 25-year-old singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist from Milwaukee, WI. He challenges the boundaries of folk, pop, and rock to create a refreshingly honest and unique take on indie music.
"Beef and Etc is, Believe It or Not, a serious song, even with the little bit silly title. I think it's another song that's very much me sort of talking to myself in it. I think that overall in my life there's been times where I've been quiet a little bit to a fault and unable to express some things that you know could really help me through different situations. I think that song is just sort of an honest piece. Kind of talking about some of those struggles that I have gone through in my life just with my personal inability to communicate certain things. I very much write from a place of talking to this other person but I think oftentimes it, whether I intend for it to be or not, is sort of me talking to myself so I think at least thematically that is where it came from."
