Power of the Gospel

• The gospel has the power to save us for eternity.
• Many know how to share the gospel in a thematic way. We focus on themes of truth and share the good news of Jesus in this way.
• Holy God - God is holy and perfect. We cannot approach him in his holiness.
• Problem of Sin - Mankind is sinful, we have all failed to live up to God’s standards
• Jesus as Savior - Jesus came to rescue us from sin and die in our place. He was crucified and rose again on the third day.
• Personal Faith - Whoever puts their faith in Jesus will be saved for eternity. Their sins are forgiven and they will be with Jesus in heaven after this life.

Purpose of the Gospel

• If the power of the gospel is how we are saved, the purpose of the gospel is why we are saved.
• The Story includes Creation, Fall, Redemption, and Restoration

Proclamation of the Gospel

• We have been given the ministry and message of reconciliation.
• The kingdom of God expands at the speed of relationships. The gospel moves along the lines of trust.

• If you heard, "What is this gospel that I have heard people talk about?"; How would you answer?
• What is more familiar to you, the power of the gospel or the purpose of the gospel? How does seeing both together change your perspective?
• If God’s purpose is to redeem and restore all things, how might he want to use you to accomplish that?
• What do you think of the statement “The kingdom of God expands at the speed of relationships. The gospel moves along the lines of trust.”
