Plasma is the fourth state of matter and is a highly ionized gas. It plays a significant role in various astrophysical phenomena, including stars, gaseous nebulae, and other cosmic phenomena. #### Conclusion In summary, lightning is a natural spark discharge that occurs within the atmosphere or between the atmosphere and the Earth's surface.
