In this episode you will hear Sara's interview with Mrs Lobban, who tells us what life was like in Jamaica when growing up and what Britain looked like to people who came over from the Caribbean after 1948. What was life in Jamaica like before
coming to England? Why did she come to Birmingham?
My Grandparents, My Parents and I is a podcast series which highlights the experiences of the Windrush Generation, who travelled to Britain between 1948 and 1971. We explore their challenges and successes, and their influence on British society to mark the arrival of the HMT Empire Windrush on its 75th anniversary. We also focus on their relationship with our city of Birmingham.
My Grandparents, My Parents and I is hosted by Sara Myers, who also directed the stage play.
