There are two amusement parks in Japan famous for having the scariest roller coasters: Nagashima Spa Land in Mie Prefecture and Fuji-Q Highland near Mt. Fuji. In this episode, we focused on Nagashima Spa Land in Mie Prefecture and talked about the popularity rankings of its roller coasters. It might not be very well-known to people overseas, but if you want to experience thrill rides even scarier than those at Disneyland or Universal Studios Japan—both popular tourist spots—this park is highly recommended. It's easy to get there from Nagoya, so if you visit Japan, definitely consider checking it out! 来月（らいげつ）からとらがマレーシアに行（い）くため、ポッドキャストが2人（ふたり）でできなくなってしまいます。そこでとらの代打（だいだ）として、とらのお父（とう）さん「インドネシアおじさん」を考（かんが）えています。今回（こんかい）はとらが都合（つごう）が悪（わる）く収録（しゅうろく）できなかったため、急遽（きゅうきょ）インドネシアおじさんと収録（しゅうろく）し、その出来栄（できば）えを試（ため）してみました。トピックとして、自動車業界（じどうしゃぎょうかい）で働（はたら）く人（ひと）としてトランプ大統領（だいとうりょう）の自動車関税（じどうしゃかんぜい）をどう考（かんが）えているのかを聞（き）いてみましたが、想像（そうぞう）していたのとは少（すこ）し違（ちが）う回答（かいとう）が来（き）ました。初（はじ）めての収録（しゅうろく）なので、あまり上手（じょうず）に話（はな）せていないかもしれませんが、「おじさん」の感想（かんそう）などあればぜひぜひお待（ま）ちしております！ Since Tora will be going to Malaysia next month, we won’t be able to record the podcast together for a while. オーストラリア（おーすとらりあ）の高校生（こうこうせい）が使（つか）っている日本語（にほんご）のテキストの中（なか）に、日本（にほん）の漫画（まんが）文化（ぶんか）を紹介（しょうかい）する読（よ）み物（もの）があったので読（よ）んでみました。その教科書（きょうかしょ）は20年以上（にじゅうねんいじょう）前（まえ）に作（つく）られていて、一番（いちばん）最近（さいきん）改訂（かいてい）されているものでも10年前（じゅうねんまえ）なのでかなり古（ふる）い情報（じょうほう）ですが、それでも漫画（まんが）の発行部数（はっこうぶすう）や「少年（しょうねん）ジャンプ」のことなど興味深（きょうみぶか）い内容（ないよう）が書（か）いてありました。今（いま）はもっと発行（はっこう）されているし、媒体（ばいたい）も変（か）わってきていますが、今（いま）の現状（げんじょう）と比較（ひかく）しながら、日本（にほん）の漫画（まんが）文化（ぶんか）について話（はな）しました。 I read an article in a Japanese textbook used by Australian high school students that introduces Japanese manga culture. This textbook was created over 20 years ago, and even the most recent revision was made 10 years ago, so it contains quite old information. However, it still included interesting content about the circulation numbers of manga and "Shonen Jump." While the circulation has increased and the media have changed since then, I discussed Japanese manga culture by comparing it to the current situation. 大阪(おおさか)から四国(しこく)に引っ越し(ひっこし)た友達(ともだち)と久しぶり(ひさしぶり)に会い(あい)ました。大阪(おおさか)という大都市(だいとし)での子育て(こそだて)に疑問(ぎもん)を感じ(かんじ)て、自然(しぜん)豊か(ゆたか)な四国(しこく)に引っ越し(ひっこし)た友達(ともだち)ですが、どうやら引っ越し(ひっこし)た先(さき)の人間関係(にんげんかんけい)にあまり馴染め(なじめ)なかったようです。人間関係(にんげんかんけい)というよりも、四国(しこく)という島(しま)の土地柄(とちがら)にも関係(かんけい)する人々(ひとびと)の人間性(にんげんせい)に慣れ(なれ)なかったと言い(いい)ました。これは何(なに)も四国(しこく)に限っ(かぎっ)たことではなく、沖縄(おきなわ)や、日本(にほん)自体(じたい)にも言える(いえる)ことだと思い(おもい)ます。島(しま)や田舎(いなか)という閉ざさ(とざさ)れた世界(せかい)から形成(けいせい)される、その土地(とち)の人々(ひとびと)の人間性(にんげんせい)について話し(はなし)てみました。 I met a friend who had moved from Osaka to Shikoku for the first time in a long while. Feeling doubtful about raising children in a big city like Osaka, my friend moved to the nature-rich Shikoku. However, it seems that they had trouble fitting into the social dynamics in their new environment. Rather than just interpersonal relationships, they said they struggled to adapt to the mindset and behaviors of the people there, which were influenced by the unique characteristics of Shikoku as an island. This is not something limited to Shikoku—it can also be said about Okinawa and even Japan as a whole. We talked about the cultural traits shaped by the closed worlds of islands and rural areas. 3月(さんがつ)になると日本(にほん)は卒業式(そつぎょうしき)シーズンに入(はい)ります。とらくんもつい先日(せんじつ)無事(ぶじ)に高校(こうこう)を卒業(そつぎょう)しました。今日は卒業式(そつぎょうしき)を前(まえ)に、お弁当(べんとう)作(づく)りの生活(せいかつ)が終(お)わり、夜(よる)の時間(じかん)を持(も)て余(あま)すようになった私(わたし)の新(あたら)しい趣味(しゅみ)探(さが)しの話(はなし)から、とらくんの高校(こうこう)生活(せいかつ)や学生(がくせい)生活(せいかつ)の振(ふ)り返(かえ)りなどを話(はな)しました。 In March, Japan enters the graduation ceremony season. Kitakyushu City is in Fukuoka Prefecture, but it’s right next to Yamaguchi Prefecture, so we also explored the charm of Yamaguchi. Yamaguchi has been featured in The New York Times , but we have never been there. We looked into what makes it so appealing. 10月(じゅうがつ) の終(お) わりに、2 年(ねん) ぶりに大阪(おおさか) に旅行(りょこう) してきました！2 年前(ねんまえ) はまだコロナの影響(えいきょう) も少(すこ)しあり、観光客(かんこうきゃく)も少(すく)なめでしたが、今回は大阪(おおさか)の中心部(ちゅうしんぶ) 、心斎橋(しんさいばし) あたりは観光客(かんこうきゃく) で溢(あふ)れていました。世界中(せかいじゅう) からの観光客(かんこうきゃく)でいっぱいで、大阪弁(おおさかべん)はおろか、日本語(にほんご) すらあまり聞(き) こえてこない状況(じょうきょう) で驚(おどろ) きました。そんな中(なか) でいつも通(どお)り、串カツ(くしかつ) を食(た)べたり、大阪(おおさか) グルメを堪能(たんのう) しましたが、それ以外(いがい) にも今回はアメリカ村(むら) でたくさんのかっこいい古着(ふるぎ) を見(み)つけ、新(あたら) しい大阪(おおさか) の楽し(たの) みを見(み)つけました。大阪(おおさか) に旅行(りょこう) する予定(よてい) のある人(ひと) には役(やく)にたつアドバイスもしていますので、参考(さんこう)にしてください。 At the end of October, I traveled to Osaka for the first time in two years! Two years ago, there was still some impact from COVID-19, and there weren’t many tourists. This time, however, the central area of Osaka, around Shinsaibashi, was overflowing with tourists. It was packed with visitors from all over the world, and I was surprised to hardly hear any Japanese, let alone the Osaka dialect. As usual, I enjoyed some kushikatsu and indulged in Osaka’s famous gourmet foods. But this time, I also discovered a new side of Osaka by finding lots of cool vintage clothes in Ame-Mura (America Village). In the fifth week, I went to a small island called Tioman Island and went diving. Compared to the bustling city of Kuala Lumpur, life in the village on the island was simple, and the people were friendly and warm. It was a very quiet and comfortable place. I also had many wonderful encounters, and it was the week where I interacted with the most people and had the most valuable experiences during my five weeks. マレーシア生活（せいかつ）２週間（にしゅうかん）が経（た）ちました。初（はじ）めの１週間（いっしゅうかん）は生活（せいかつ）に慣（な）れるのが精一杯（せいいっぱい）で、なかなかクアラルンプールを楽し（たの）めず、ポッドキャストでもあまりポジティブな報告（ほうこく）ができなかった私（わたし）たちですが、１週目（いっしゅうめ）と違（ちが）って２週目（にしゅうめ）は、少（すこ）しこちらの生活（せいかつ）にも慣（な）れて、二人（ふたり）とも前向（まえむ）きなことが言（い）えるようになりました。とらくんはバドミントンを通（つう）じて学校（がっこう）でも友達（ともだち）ができ、学校（がっこう）が楽（たの）しくなったようです。私（わたし）もジムのスタッフと仲良（なかよ）くなったりで、趣味（しゅみ）を持（も）つことが海外生活（かいがいせいかつ）でとても重要（じゅうよう）なんだなということに気（き）づきました。１週目（いっしゅうめ）と違（ちが）ってだいぶ前向（まえむ）きになった私（わたし）たちの生活（せいかつ）を聞（き）いてください。 It has been two weeks since we started living in Malaysia. In the first week, we were so focused on getting used to life here that we couldn’t really enjoy Kuala Lumpur, and we weren’t able to share many positive updates in the podcast. However, unlike the first week, by the second week, we’ve gotten a bit more accustomed to life here, and both of us can now speak more positively. Tora has made friends at school through badminton, and it seems like he’s started to enjoy school. I’ve also become friends with the gym staff, which made me realize how important it is to have hobbies when living abroad. 7月末(がつまつ)からとらくんとマレーシアに来(き)ています。今回（こんかい）はマレーシアから録音(ろくおん)してお送(おく)りしています。実(じつ)は日本(にほん)からマレーシアまで私(わたし)たち2人(にん)は別々(べつべつ)の航空会社(こうくうがいしゃ)で来(き)ました。とらくんはシンガポール航空(こうくう)、私(わたし)は日本航空(にほんこうくう)です。かつて機内(きない)サービス世界(せかい)１だったシンガポール航空(こうくう)ですが、とらくんはあまり満足(まんぞく)できなかったようです。私(わたし)の乗(の)った日本航空(にほんこうくう)はサービスもよくて大満足(だいまんぞく)でした。そんな機内(きない)でのサービスについて、２つの航空会社(こうくうがいしゃ)を比較(ひかく)しながら話(はな)しました。 Since the end of July, Tora-kun and I have been in Malaysia. 今（いま）「The Crown」というドラマにハマっています。エリザベス女王（じょおう）のストーリーを通（とお）して、イギリスの王室制度（おうしつせいど）、結婚観（けっこんかん）、日本（にほん）の皇室制度（こうしつせいど）との違（ちが）いなどなど、学（まな）ぶことがたくさんありました。特（とく）に、恋愛（れんあい）や結婚（けっこん）が大（おお）きく関係（かんけい）してくる王室内（おうしつない）の生活（せいかつ）は、日本（にほん）と比（くら）べて大（おお）きく違（ちが）っていてとても興味深（きょうみぶか）いものでした。私（わたし）が感（かん）じた個人的（こじんてき）なドラマの感想（かんそう）を話（はな）しています。あくまでもドラマについての個人的（こじんてき）な感想（かんそう）であり、実際（じっさい）のイギリス王室（おうしつ）や国王（こくおう）を批判（ひはん）したものではありませんので、ご了承（りょうしょう）ください。笑 I am currently hooked on the drama "The Crown."
