It's a brand new year, so it's time for a brand new episode of Hoser Horror! Join Carlo and Dan as they talk about two completely random, theme-less Canadian horror movies that they happened to want to watch this week. Yes, sometimes we plan themes and try to compare and contrast our picks, but this time we just wanted to watch a couple movies, eh?

From 1999, we discuss the return to feature filmmaking for cult-director John Paizs (of Crimewave previously.) How does this sci-fi spoof-em-up stack up? Why is it seemingly forgotten despite lots of television play and a warm critical reception? Where exactly is the bumpy, lumpy part of town? We ask these questions before moving on to Corpse Eaters from 1974, which has the distinction of being one of Canada's earliest gore films (landing a year or so after Cannibal Girls.) Written and produced by drive-in owner Lawrence Zazelenchuk, this zombie movie got tied up in a terrible distribution deal until years later. How does the 50-odd minute movie stand up? We watched it, we'll tell ya!
