Three members of the club’s 1924 planning committee - “Only the Lonely” podcast host Colin Telford, club historian John Henderson, and Airdrie Community Trust trustee Gordon Thomson - sat down at the Excelsior last week, and set about the gargantuan task of examining the cup win in forensic detail. Over two and a half hours of fascinating discussion, the trio left no stone unturned as they explored everything from the roots of Airdrieonians Football Club to the legacy of the cup-winning squad, with detailed descriptions of all the figures involved and the matches that mattered.
