Houston Texans: The Texans are not longer in a rebuilding mode, but they do want to stake another step forward under head coach DeMeco Ryans. With quarterback C.J. Stroud leading the offense, the team’s outlook hinges on his development and how quickly the young talent around him matures. The defense, anchored by a promising front seven, might keep games close, but they are favored to get back into the postseason.

Indianapolis Colts: Another team turning the page with a rookie quarterback, the Colts are pinning their hopes on Anthony Richardson. His rookie campaign was derailed because of injury but his sophomore season should allow his athleticism to flourish. Head coach Shane Steichen is tasked with developing Richardson while leaning on a solid running game led by Jonathan Taylor. The defense has potential, but there are questions about depth, especially in the secondary.

Jacksonville Jaguars: The Jaguars are looked at by some as favorites to win the division, with Trevor Lawrence expected to take another step forward under Doug Pederson. The defense, while not elite, is serviceable enough to complement the high-scoring offense. The Jaguars are seen as a team that could make noise in the playoffs.

Tennessee Titans: The Titans are somewhat of a wild card. With a strong defense and loss of Derrick Henry, they look like a project in '24. Questions at quarterback and offensive line stability could hinder their ceiling.
