In Part 1 we discussed having a plan. In Part 2 we discussed reviewing and revising our plan on a regular basis. Today, in Part 3 we are discussing S.M.A.R.T Planning. "The SMART acronym first appeared in the November 1981 issue of Management Review. "There's a S.M.A.R.T. way to write management goals and objectives." was the title and it was written by George Doran, Arthur Miller, and James Cunningham." according to smart-goals-guide.com. According to the same source: "When the S.M.A.R.T goal was first introduced to the world it was an acronym which stood for: S. - Specific M. - Measurable A. – Assignable R. - Realistic T. – Time-based - In other words when you set a goal you had to ensure it was specific, measurable, assignable, realistic and time-based." Here are some other words that came be used to perhaps make it better fit your needs. "S - Specific, or significant, stretching, stimulating, simple, self-owned, strategic , sensible M. - Measurable, or meaningful, motivating, manageable , maintainable A. – Achievable , or attainable, action-oriented, appropriate, agreed, assignable, ambitious, accepted, audacious R. - Relevant , or rewarding, results-oriented, resourced, recorded, reviewable, robust T. – Time based or time-bound, timelined, track-able " During today's broadcast, we created our own from the above ... listen and see what's up. Tune in next week as we wrap up Q1 with 2 other planning methods. ================================================================================================================= Want to meet me in person, and a room full of potential new connections, speakers and- trainers? Last week we discussed having a plan. This week we are discussing things that you might need to change in your plan [or put in your plan if you do not already have one]. In reviewing my own plan, I have much to change and revise, and I discuss it today. This will be revised in the next day or two, but due to an issue beyond my immediate control [the computer ate my update versus the dog ate my homework]. I had it typed up, and the computer really did eat it. LOL. S.M.A.R.T. Plan - the original meaning of the S.M.A.R.T. acronym - S. - Specific M. - Measurable A. – Assignable R. - Realistic T. – Time based ========================================================================================================================================= Thank you for supporting the podcast. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/rhonda-r-hudgins/support…

The definition of Ambassador is: a person who acts as a representative or promoter of a specified activity -- I would add or of a specific business or event. When a business owner or event host asks you to be their Ambassador, they are saying, "I trust you with my brand." There's so much more, so please, grab a cup of coffee and listen in. It's almost gone ... the opportunity to have a 30-minute conversation with Rhonda on her dime. You need to network so people know your business exists and is open for business. Remember we defined networking a couple weeks ago as the action or process of interacting with others to exchange information and develop professional or social contacts - the exchange of information or services among individuals, groups, or institutions for the cultivation of productive relationships for business. But you cannot simply find a bunch of events, buy a handful of tickets and go conquer the world. There's really so much more to it, and if you want to avoid the pitfalls, grab the hand of this pro and learn how to network for profitability. It really is all about relationships - either the ones you have, or the ones you don't have. We all know what "personal relationships" are about, but do you truly understand what business relationships are about? BusinessDictionary.com defines business relationship as "An association between individuals or companies entered into for commercial purposes and sometimes formalized with legal contracts or agreements. Many senior corporate executives maintain a friendly business relationship with an extensive network of other executives, business people and contractors that they can call upon for advice or for other business purposes." I don't 100% agree with them, but it does give one a base to form a definition for oneself. Again I want to thank Keith Ivey, The PRO Connector for sponsoring today's episode, and invite you to join us at his workshop on February 26, if you are going to be in the Atlanta area. EXTRA EXTRA READ ALL ABOUT IT! "A well known local entrepreneur was sighted on a freeway exit ramp, bald and panhandling. When asked what had brought her to this low point in her life, the surprising, one-word answer was 'NETWORKING'." Obviously, this is a made up story, but the truth is networking can be one of the most overwhelming and money heavy activities in a business owners life. Are you aware that only a small percentage of people who network regularly see enough referrals and business to call it profitable? Just as with life and business, networking correctly involves more than showing up with a box and business cards. Is it time you hired a professional? Let's dive in. Learning how to handle it when someone says something they believe is positive to you, but it is really a negative; is a skill we all must have. Handling this can often be a really tough thing to do. However, you must learn to handle it, otherwise it can sideline you and take you completely out of the game. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/rhonda-r-hudgins/support…

We all go to events, seminars, conferences, attend webinar, purchase courses, and so much more, but do we implement what we get? Or do we simply horde all this information, like pristine Sunday New York Times papers, until there's no place left for us? It's time to drain the swamp and stop the hoarding, before the hoarding drowns us in the stagnant waters that we've created for our lives, families, ministries, and businesses. Take the time to drain the gunk, and go into the new year, with a fresh start. I recommend these fabulous sponsors, as the places to start to make sure you have what you need to start 2019 on a solid foundation, instead of trying to walk a tightrope over the stagnant waters of the unused/unimplemented information swamp. One of the "push-backs" I often hear in relation to attending a networking event that has a paid ticket, is the "I attend the We Are Networkers" Meet-up or Anyville B2B and they are free, so I do not see a need to paid to network.
