Mining giant flags early closure of Queensland's biggest coal-fired power station

Queensland's largest and oldest coal-fired power station could be retired six years earlier than originally forecast.

Rio Tinto informed the Australian Energy Market Operator yesterday that it could close the Gladstone Power Station by 2029, rather than in 2035, but noted a final decision is yet to be made.
