We create our own silly paradoxes by clinging to the last shreds of our Earthcentricity. That feeling that our planet or species is in some way special. We gain comfort in claiming we know what the smallest most elemental units of anything are when in reality that knowledge will forever remain within the confines of the limitations of the scientific precision of the best instruments used to record those observations. We can have a packetized and quantized description of reality relative the laws of physics behaving within a range of scale factors but can not say with certainty we know something is in fact elemental and beyond division.
When instead we examine what it would mean if there were a realm of mass and energy far far smaller than the electron neutrino we come across some very interesting predictions. It would predict that waves of energy in motion, the same waves we see manifest through the quantum fields that make QFT so successful would be seen as an aggregation of waves in phase from a subquantum source. If there was a subquantum realm we would see those random aggregations of waves constantly breaking through the quantum barriers but only those of sufficient strength could become stable so we would predict measurable vacuum energy as well as a need for both virtual particles and renormalization to make Feynman diagrams work effectively.
But the evidence does not stop there. If it were true then we would predict those aggregations of waves of subquantum energy in phase (manifesting through quantum fields) would aggregate with a combined energy and velocity and trajectory and like all waves would do its best to try to spread out in all three spatial dimensions for as long as each medium allows.
It is that aggregation of subquantum energy we call decoherence or the collapse of the wave function but a subquantum realm would predict its occurrent as a spacetime event would be probabilistic. A sub quantum realm where aggregations of waves of energy in phase not yet sufficient in strength to break the quantum barrier are still able to interact in both repulsive and attractive ways. Those attractive and repulsive events would cause the manifestation of the aggregation of those waves through a quantum field to occur at not exactly random places , but often deviating from its predicted path. The fact we have a probabilistic wave function, vacuum energy, virtual particles, renormalization, might be enough to prove it but there is one more undeniable fact. There is a fact we can not escape that confirms a subquantum realm if certain.
If our spacetime was not comprised of massenergy we could not directly measure it would have zero reason to be attracted to massenergy. The ONLY Way you get spacetime being attracted to massenergy is if it is made up of smaller massenergy. It is the fact we can see gravity warp spacetime that proves there much be a subquantum realm we can not see. I would guess likely about a trillion times smaller in mass and charge than the electron neutrino and in abundance far more prevalent than the current number of neutrinos we see. A mind boggling number of them, subquantum waves of energy that if we tried to measure a certain scale factor we end up giving something new a name.
I predict that all this evidence alone may not be sufficient because its all circumstantial. Its unfortunately the that limitations in our ability to perceive a subquantum realm could be limited by the laws of physics themself and beyond any possible measurement. It becomes something we do on science when enough evidence matches prediction that we see patterns develop to help make sense of it all.
