While in our last podcast we talked about the cunning nature and deception of Jacob, today we see how Jacob was tricked and deceived by Laban. Jacob agrees to work for Laban to marry Rachel, but Laban tricks Jacob and gives him Leah as a wife. Jacob worked seven year for Rachel and after being tricked, he works an addition seven years that turns into twenty years total. Jacob leaves Laban and returns home but not without a confrontation. Jacob must also confront Esau but not before wrestling with God. Somewhere in the struggle, the fight, Jacob realizes who is with him and who he is fighting. He ask for a blessing. What blessing? What is Jacob looking for? He already has children. He has plenty of livestock, which in that day was wealth. What blessing is Jacob looking for?
