The Brazen Bull was a hollow brass bull allegedly used by King Phalaris to torture his subjects in the most sadistic imaginable way. A victim was placed in the bull while a fire was lit beneath it, roasting them alive. Their cries and screams mimicked the sound of the bull as they resonated in the horns and whistles inside. But, was there any truth to this myth? Today, we’ll discuss the origins of this melodic torture device, the fate of its inventor, and the evidence supporting this legend!
