Welcome to Episode Eight of the Tejon Ranch History Podcast. Earthquake! In 1857, much of the buildings left on Fort Tejon were destroyed by an earthquake (estimated at a whopping 8.0 on the Richter Scale). The tremors were so strong they were felt from as far away as San Diego and even San Francisco.
