Coach Ricky Yahn,
In this episode, you’ll hear from Ricky Yahn. Ricky is the head coach at Concordia University. This NAIA university is located in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Right away, Coach Yahn is going to describe how his hometown of Wheeling, West Virginia has been a hotbed for coaches. From the late great Skip Prosser to his son Mark, to Doug and Dave Wojcik, to even the future Hall of Famer, John Beilein, this city has developed some amazing basketball coaches. Actually, under the tutelage of Coach Dave Wojcik is when Coach Ricky knew that he wanted to be a coach. Coach Ricky had an “epiphany” at a McDonald's Drive Thru. Wait until you hear this! After stops at George Mason, Longwood, and Cornell, Coach Ricky was named the Head Coach at Concordia at the age of twenty eight. Nine years later, Coach Ricky is competing year in and out for a WHAC championship. In this podcast, Coach Yahn is going to offer his thoughts on practice planning, thoughts on his defensive philosophy, thoughts on toughness, thoughts on defining player roles, and thoughts on integrity.
