Tamar’s fourth full-length effort, Good Times for a Change, may well be her best yet, taking its name from the lyrics from her favorite Smiths’ song “Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want.” That title might well serve as an apt summary of the new album’s themes, once more recorded in her home studio.

Tamar has been compared favorably to Liz Phair, Aimee Mann, Snail Mail, Phoebe Bridgers, Olivia Rodrigo and Taylor Swift.

After Good Times for a Change comes out, Tamar will return to Chicago in September 2024 for a special concert with hometown group Material Issue/Material Reissue, returning to the place where she first emerged as a founding member of the groups Starball and Sweet Heat, releasing albums on notable indie labels Thick Records, Minty Fresh and Kill Rock Stars.
