WELCOME back to another edition of THE MEAT GRINDER podcast, your weekly dose of High School Football in Connecticut with hosts Sean Patrick Bowley and Pete Paguaga.

We’ve reached the midpoint of the 2024 season and — WELP! — throw out the scouting reports!

That’s what we did — onto a pyre — after a topsy-turvy Week 6, one that saw yet another unbeaten SWC team go down after getting shut out in the next game after shutting out their last opponent. Two weeks ago, it was Bunnell knocking off Masuk. This week, it was unbeaten Brookfield knocking off Bunnell by the same score, 21-0.

We also saw a number of other unbeaten teams go down, including, for the second time this year, the state’s No. 1-ranked team when Wilton rose up and knocked off top-ranked Greenwich on its home turf at Cardinal Stadium.

It’s left us with more questions than answers as we sift through the carnage to try and figure out where all of these teams actually should be ranked heading into the season’s second half.
