#16 Hannah Boyd | Stanford Swimmer on Battling Mental Health
Manage episode 287923647 series 2898036
Hannah Boyd was and is considered one of the best athletes to come through central, IL.
After her Freshman season at University High School in Normal, IL, where she won the state title in the 200m Freestyle, she opted out of her IHSA career to focus on her club, national, international, and even and potential Olympic careers.
Since childhood, Hannah was regularly ranked among the top swimmers in the nation and quickly became known for her immense swimming potential. Additionally, she's always excelled in the classroom and held herself to very high standards. In summary, she was a young high-achiever, and people expected quite a lot from her. And as with many child prodigies, outside pressures can begin to build.
In this short film, Hannah shares the inspiring story of her rise, fall, and the eventual establishment of a new-and-improved version of herself. Also featured in this film are two of Hannah's family members and her long-time friend, to help better tell the story. Thanks for doing this you three!
