The Philadelphia Eagles are NFC Champions and are heading to the Super Bowl! The Birds beat the Washington Commanders down at The Linc in the NFC Championship Game by a score of 55-23. It will be the second time in the past three years that the Eagles are heading to the Super Bowl. We gave our thoughts, themes, and grades after the game. Jalen Hurts performed incredibly well given the knee issue that was bothering him for much of the week after the game against the Rams. But the real offensive story from the game was 7 total rushing touchdowns thanks to Hurts, Saquon Barkley and a very resilient offensive line. Vic Fangio’s defense, played incredible at all levels once again this week holding Jayden Daniels and the Commanders offense to only 23 points. Turnovers were a huge theme in this game as the Eagles had three fumble recoveries. The NFC Divisional Round game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Los Angeles Rams here in the 2024-2025 season is now in the books! The Eagles defeated the Rams by a score of 28-22 down at The Linc. The Eagles now look to the NFC Championship Game where they will face the Washington Commanders in Philly. It’s going to be an incredible game. Jalen Hurts certainly didn’t play his best football of the year, but it was enough to help the Eagles win, especially with his 44-yard touchdown run in the first quarter that helped set the tone for the offense. While the wide receivers disappointed in this game, Saquon Barkley did not. He ran for 205 yards on the ground (plus 27 yards catching the ball) on 16 carries, and two touchdowns. Vic Fangio’s defense played well and placed pressure on Matt Stafford in the game when it truly counted. While the snow elements provided some challenges, the pass rush, rushing defense, and secondary played a complete game. One of our themes, however, was the many plays left on the field by the defense. As always, we gave our top themes, thoughts and opinions from the game on offense, defense, and special teams, and then graded each unit on both sides of the ball, as well as the coaching staff. It was great to have our friend of the pod Matt Rogers from The Honorable Mention Podcast join us this week for our analysis. The Philadelphia Flyers are in the midst of a season full of varying successes and development of building blocks for the future. While the season has had many ups and downs, this team has been fun to watch over the past month. This week, Kelly Hinkle from BroadStreetHockey.com joined us for an in-depth discussion about where the team is heading, and what we should expect as the building blocks for the future take shape. It was a great discussion! But first, the guys discussed how the current Eagles defense could be one of the top defenses in franchise history, and how we think they’ll fare against the Los Angeles Rams this coming Sunday. (Approx. 5:15) From there, they talked about the Orange Bowl, the Penn State and Notre Dame game, and how Penn State crapped the bed. (Approx. 17:25) They guys then moved on to talking about idiot sports fans who are now banned from attending sporting events. (Approx. 25:35) Then the guys dove into the recent story of the Sixers abandoning their plans for a Center City arena, and the decision to develop the South Philly Sports Complex over the next 10 years. (Approx. 34:40) What they threw down on the Table this week was an in-depth discussion with Kelly Hinkle from Broad Street Hockey about what we’ve been seeing on the ice from the Flyers. Dissecting what the organization should do about the horrendous goaltending situation. Bobby Brink and his improvement this season. The most underrated Flyers player of the season. Who might be traded before the deadline? How has John Tortorella been handling his coaching duties, and how it may translate to future success for this Flyers team? All of this and much more this week on the Table! The Wild Card playoff game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers here in the 2024-2025 season is now in the books! The Eagles defeated the Packers by a score of 22-10 down at The Linc. The Eagles now look to the divisional round of the playoffs after an incredible defensive performance. Jalen Hurts was back under center after being out with a concussion over the past few weeks. While he did not have the greatest game on the stat sheet, he did not turn the ball over, and ran the offense well. Saquon Barkley rushed for 4.8 yards per carry, 119 yards on the ground throughout this game. Vic Fangio’s defense, played incredible at all levels against the Packers offense. Quarterback Jordan Love was consistently pressured. The defense ended up with 3 interceptions, and only held this Packers offense to 10 points. As always, we gave our top themes, thoughts and opinions from the game on offense, defense, and special teams, and then graded each unit on both sides of the ball, as well as the coaching staff. Week 18 of the Philadelphia Eagles 2024-2025 season is now in the books as they have completed their regular season by beating the New York Giants by a score of 20-13 down at The Linc. The Eagles now look to the playoffs. They’ll be facing the Green Bay Packers at The Linc this next weekend. But this was a fun last regular season win while watching most of the backups. This game felt like a preseason game as we watched third-string quarterback Tanner McKee beat the Giants defense. While the Giants are a bad football team, they played their No. 1 players for most of the game. Hats off to McKee for his first NFL and Eagles win as a starting quarterback. It was also nice to see Eagles WR Jahan Dotson getting 11 targets in this game for 94 yards. Vic Fangio’s defense, mainly backups, played well against the Giants starters on offense. Holding them to just 13 points, we saw some nice play from all three levels of the defense. As always, we gave our top themes, thoughts and opinions from the game on offense, defense, and special teams, and then graded each unit on both sides of the ball, as well as the coaching staff.
