A member of the European Parliament, Mick Wallace, gave it and passion speech a few days ago questioning whether the United States of America is a functioning Republic. It's not the only thing Wallace said, and it was reminiscent of a passage spoken in the premiere episode of "The Newsroom" on HBO approximately a decade ago.
