We now come to a familiar, oft quoted passage. Paul will set before us the supreme example of humility, Jesus. We far too often compare ourselves with each other. There is only one standard in the body of Christ, only one we need to compare ourselves to and that is Jesus.
Paul commands us to put on the mind of Christ. This means that we are to make oursevles of no reputation. We are to be bondservants. We are to be both humble and obedient. This is the example that Jesus has set for us. This is what it means to put on the mind of Christ. We will not enjoy true unity until we put on the mind of Christ.
May all of us put on the mind of Christ to the glory of God.
