Our panel discusses Transport for the North's approach to decarbonisation and some of the ways that different sectors can work towards the challenge. Our Decarbonisation Strategy, now launched for consultation, is the first time a regional document of this type has been produced, bringing together the region’s leaders to speak with one voice on the actions needed to tackle climate change. It is the culmination of efforts from TfN and our partners across the North to create the tools, capability and evidence that will help shape our pathway to near zero emissions by 2045. Our speakers included Peter Cole (Principal Environmental and Sustainability Officer), Cllr Daren Hale (Leader, Hull City Council and TfN Board Member), Piers Forster (Professor of Physical Climate Change , University of Leeds), Dr Marilyn Comrie OBE (Director, The Blair Project, and Member of the Greater Manchester LEP) and event chair Shelina Begum (Business Editor, The Business Desk).
