I mentioned in our four part series, a term I use, “Religious Apparatus.” Episode 2 of 4. I thought I should lay a little more foundation, so that Episode 3 of 4 and 4 of 4 make more sense to you.
What is “Religious Apparatus?” Religious systems or interpretations that emphasize a more surface-level or literal reading of biblical texts without digging deeply into the original languages (such as Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek), cultural contexts, and historical backgrounds in which the scriptures were written. Such approaches might prioritize tradition, doctrinal interpretations, or modern applications over historical-critical methods that seek to understand the text in its original setting.
