How Storytelling can help with Personal Growth and Social Impact
Manage episode 386017252 series 3528392
This episode begins by sharing the motivation and inspiration for beginning the podcast then we hear from our first guest Ronni Gurwicz.
Ronni is a published narrative coach and ecosystem analyst. He is also in the process of drinking 1000 cups of coffee with a thousand strangers. Specific to Episode 1, Ronni is Co-author of a book called ‘The World is Storytelling’ which helped me find meaning with my podcast idea.
With this episode I hope to leave the listener left with a little better understanding of how storytelling can help with personal growth and social impact.
In sum, storytelling can aid and these ideas in three ways, by figuring out:
- who I am
- who you are
- and who we are together
By I am I mean the storyteller getting their own story in order as they realize what they have to say. By who you are I mean the listener hearing the story and learning about the storyteller. Finally, who we are together, this is where the social impact part of storytelling can be really effective.
As I said in the beginning we don't necessarily have to agree but being open to hearing another’s story is a fantastic place to start.
