We know from the preceding verses that Jesus was referring to earthly, tangible treasures such as money or items of great value. However, my heart has another treasure. My heart is terribly fond of me. Whether I like to admit it or not, I treasure myself. The Father desires that you look after your own interests, but the Father always wants us to move beyond that focus to others, for it is in giving that you receive; it is in giving that you die to self.
