In episode 57 of Web3 Warriors, Krome interviews Andres, aka MetaDre - creator of MetaDre Productions, about his plans to merge club nights with the metaverse for phygital events in New York. He is hosting an event in Brooklyn featuring Low Sleazy and live DJs, which will be livestreaming into the metaverse and incorporating NFTs. This takes place during NFT.NYC on April 14 at 234 Starr Street.
The discussion veers into the philosophical and asks the question, "Can web3 save our data?" when looking at the different visions for the metaverse that are seemingly at odds. On one hand, web3 seeks to empower digital creators and collectors, while on the other hand there are traditional social media entities creating their own metaverse spaces that continue their tradition of monetizing our data and taking a significant cut of any sales on their platform.
