#72 The Heroes Journey (ENG)
Manage episode 316200544 series 2513989
Welcome to my second English episode. Every four weeks I will publish English content and interviews. Every second episode is still in german, just follow the titles to orientate. In this episode, I will introduce you to the concept behind the New Work Heroes Coachings. The Heroes Journey is a solid foundation for Screenwriters, Coaches, Authors and Mystics. The 1949 published book "The Hero with a Thousand Faces" by Joseph Campbell can be seen as a foundation and door to the storytelling of human beings. Let me guide you through the journey as a review for this year.
As a Facilitator, Author and Coachpreneur I am creating learning journeys and enabling groups and individuals to create the best results possible. My area of work is new working methods like Lean Startup, Design Thinking and Agile Methods that are combined under the Buzz word New Work. With the Careerhero Typology, I created a tool for personal development and leadership and make use of an adaptation of the Herox Journey. Here are the four steps and my affirmations for you:
- Abyssos (Greek ἄβυσσος 'groundless', 'immeasurable', 'abyss'; Latin: abyssus) refers to the underworld in biblical mythology. Affirmations: Behind my doubt lies a treasure of expanded knowledge. When I take responsibility for myself, I can truly lead myself and others.
- Metamorphosis in mythology (Greek μετά metá "at, with," μορφή morphḗ "shape" → μόρφωσις mórphōsis "shaping") refers to the change of form or transformation of a god, mythical being, or human being, more rarely of animals or objects. Affirmations: I seek the hard to reach and recognize my competencies and motivations.
- Agon (ancient Greek Ἀγών) is the personification of competition (agon) in Greek mythology. Individuals can expand and improve their abilities in orderly competition, at the same time being useful to the community. Affirmations: To what temptations am I vulnerable? My inner struggles and dialogues can help me grow.
- Lusis (Greek λύσις, lýsis) "solution, resolution, termination" stands for, the unraveling of a previously tied knot in drama according to Aristotle. Similar to the term dénouement that describes the resolution of the basic conflict in a drama. Affirmations: At the end of my journey, I have learned to understand and support the path of personal change in myself and others.
