My guest this week is Erin Jackson.

Erin is an extraordinarily talented comedy writer and stand-up comic who has appeared on Conan, Seth Meyers, and Ellen.

I discovered Erin almost ten years ago when my friends invited me to a local comedy club for a show they'd won free tickets to. Erin was the middle spot that night, and yet she blew away the headliner.

A few years later we crossed paths as colleagues when I made a small name for myself as a comedy magician in the college entertainment market.

I've followed her career ever since and was thrilled to connect with her for the show.

We chat about what being a stand-up comic really means, whether mainstream media still has the ability to break a comic's career, self-confidence and validation, how to connect with an audience, and of course, Erin shares her story of a chance encounter with lasting impact.

And it's one of my favorites in three seasons of this show.
