DiploChatz Episode 8 is joined by Dr. Cyndy Soto Lopez from the DICE Center at the University of Nevada, Reno. In this episode, Dr. Soto Lopez talks about mental health and trauma and its impact on our daily life, especially in COVID-19 pandemic time.
Dr. Cyndy Soto Lopez also talks about the important work and impact that the DICE Center is having in the lives of many immigrants and refugees. The DICE Center is dedicated to the dissemination of evidence-based culturally sensitive research. The DICE Center provides critical psychological services in the client’s native language which help clients feel more comfortable while opening up about mental health.

Who is Dr. Yvonne?
In addition to a three-decade-long career in academia as a professor in the College of Business at the University of Nevada, Reno, Dr. Yvonne Stedham is a Center for Mindfulness trained mindfulness instructor. She has taught Mindful Leadership courses to MBA students, judges, and business executives and has a variety provided mindfulness programs to many organizations, including Microsoft, Hometown Health, and the Nevada Department of Transportation. Dr. Yvonne has been continuously affiliated with the Northern Nevada International Center for decades.
