In today's episode, I wrap up my series on Don Miguel Ruiz's book "The Four Agreements." I've covered all four agreements in the previous episodes, which are: Be impeccable with your word, Don't take anything personally, Don't make assumptions, and Do your best.
Now that you've listened to the entire series, you might be wondering how to put these agreements into practice and make them a part of your daily life. In today's show, I share with you one practical way to start implementing these agreements in your conscious practice.
First, Don Miguel Ruiz suggests to simply do your best to honor these agreements, keeping in mind that your best may vary from day to day. He also recommends writing down your commitment to honor the Four Agreements in your journal or diary, to cement it in your mind.
My suggestion is to focus on one agreement per day for four days, rotating through all four. For example, start on Monday with being impeccable with your word, then on Tuesday, look for instances where you took things personally, Wednesday, avoid making assumptions, and Thursday, reflect on what you learned from the first three days and think about what you can improve.
The rest of the week, you could start again with the first three, but this time, live the agreement for a whole hour, or even all morning or all day. Think of this as building a muscle - the more you practice, the stronger you'll get.
