Let me tell you how my language learning journey went from “this will be easy” to “what have I gotten myself into?”

At first, learning Italian felt like a piece of cake.

I was having fun playing Duolingo games, watching YouTube videos with people saying “ciao bella” and “espresso” a lot, and honestly thinking that sooner or later, I’d just wake up fluent. Simple, right?
