2020 will definitely be a year we’ll never forget. I was telling some of my friends the other day that 2020 is the year of the perfect vision, and I really expected this to be a great year, but of course, this was before the pandemic hit, and since March, it’s been an insane roller coaster ride for all of us. I sure didn’t expect to start this school year the way it ended. I’m sure you all didn’t predict that either. Think about it; we didn’t even know what COVID-19 was at this time last year. I truly was hoping we would start the school year as I have for the previous 20 years, but unfortunately, that’s not the case. With a new school year right around the corner and coronavirus infections still on the rise, teachers, students, and parents are more anxious than ever. It’s normal to feel anxious about the future's uncertainty and the disruptions to your usual routines. It’s important to remember that you're not alone. Even though there are so many unanswered questions, most schools will open up with online learning versus the traditional classroom setting. I personally believe that in-person instruction is critical for our students’ social, emotional, and intellectual development. Still, unfortunately, due to the drastic increases in COVID-19 cases, most districts around the nation feel more comfortable using online platforms for the foreseeable future.
I’ve put together some tips to help you make the most of your studies until we’re all back on campus.
1. Create a useful structure; 2. Organize yourself – your way; 3. Technology Technical Support; 4. Grading System; 5. Watch out for the isolation blues; 6. Keep Everyone Active
