46. The Art Of Being Lost

The art of being lost can be seen as a form of an ego death. I see it as a phase of life that visits us after our ego has already "died" because we are then completely in the unknown. We are lost. Then the journey of this phase is about shifting into a new level of soul embodiment. In this episode, I read a section from the book Soulcraft, which breaks down this lovely art form. I also share how I am just getting out of a phase of being lost that lasted for over a year when I was called to let go of the Art Therapist identity. Then after all the plot twists within that year I have recently landed back into the field of therapy but yet in a completely different, more expansive and whole way, with new identifiers thrown into the mix, which is what my soul was asking of me to discover. And I never would have discovered that if I didn't have the courage to be lost.

"The shift from being lost to being found (in a new, unpredictable way) is a gradual and indirect one. The way to encourage that shift is to first accept that you don't know how to get to the place you want to be and then opening fully to the place you are until the old goals fall away and you discover more soulful goals emerging. Then you are no longer lost, but you have benefited immensely from having been so."
