Only a sole tier of iPhone users will have access to Apple’s latest, artificially intelligent operating system. The tech company unveiled iOS 18 on Monday, along with its ChatGPT-powered AI component called Apple Intelligence. In the headlines on #TheUpdate this Saturday, Mayor Adams pleaded not guilty to federal bribery charges, firmly rejecting allegations that he accepted overseas travel, campaign cash and other perks from foreign interests seeking to harness his influence. Meanwhile, Mayor Adams’ chief adviser Ingrid Lewis-Martin was stopped at the airport by authorities and had her phone seized as she arrived home from vacation in Japan. Elsewhere, A New York judge denied Gov. Hochul’s request to toss out lawsuits challenging her decision to halt a new congestion fee for drivers into Manhattan. And Hurricane Helene caused at least 52 deaths and billions of dollars of destruction across a wide swath of the southeastern U.S. as it raced through, and more than 3 million customers went into the weekend without any power and for some a continued threat of floods.
