A native of South Boston, VA, Judge Whitted was elected to the Chesapeake Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court bench in 2018. Before his appointment to the bench, Judge Whitted was Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney for the City of Chesapeake and had been with the Chesapeake Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office for 17 years. Before that, Judge Whitted had been a Public Defender in Suffolk since 1995. Judge Whitted has served in the community and the legal profession throughout his career, including, but not limited to President of the Chesapeake Bar Association, the Chairman of the Chesapeake Planning Commission, and many other boards and commissions. Judge Whitted received his Bachelor of Science from Hampton University and his Juris Doctor from The College of William and Mary. Chambers has over 20 years of experience in leadership at both the military and federal government developing, leading, and implementing policy goals. He has been fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with, coach, and develop people by inspiring them, as they feel an ownership role in their success. Chambers has led teams that perform audits of mission-critical programs that support the mission, vision, values, and goals of the agency. Chambers received my BS from Virginia Union University and my MBA from Averett University . He is a graduate of the Partnership for Public Service Leadership Excellence in Acquisition Program (LEAP) and Excellence in Government (EIG) Fellows Program. During his tenure as a Public Servant, he has held the positions of Federal Correctional Officer, Contract Specialist, Contracting Officer, Procurement Analyst, Director of the Risk Management and Compliance Unit, Director of the Risk Management and Compliance Division, and Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom Staff Sergeant (Ret.) military veteran.
