Hi Amber and Josh,
I’m a big fan of the show and appreciate all the help you two provide the ToC listeners! I have a FaceBag question about disavowing links.
I know both of you (and Google) say disavowing links is unnecessary, but I noticed a huge spike in links from one domain to a single page on my site in Search Console reporting. Yet when I visit the linking site and any of its pages, there are no links to my site to be found. Could this be a Search Console error or some type of spam?
When I view a link profile using tools like Ahrefs or Moz, the links don’t appear there. However, my Domain Rating on Ahrefs (a pointless metric, I know) has dropped 4 points over the past few weeks without any other changes.
It’s probably not worth worrying about. I was just curious if either of you have any experience with something like this.
Thanks for any insight. I’ll get back to creating new content now.

Hi, Amber & Josh:
I love your podcast!
I’ve been blogging for about 18 months. One of my most popular affiliate posts abruptly stopped generating much revenue in the last couple months and I want to figure out why.
I’m still learning SEO, but I thought this was a pretty well optimized post and it DID bring me a lot of traffic. You can see the post here.
Interestingly enough, the post has done WORSE since I updated it with headers, optimized keywords, etc. a few months ago.
So my question is:
How do I get to the bottom of why this post has stopped generating much revenue? I checked Google Search Console but I’m not really sure what to look for.
Thanks!
Katie

Dear Amber and Joshua,
I’m a watercolor painter and printmaker with a 14 year old blog focused on sharing art-making methods and creative encouragement. I have an instructional Youtube channel, and an Etsy Shop to sell my work. All sites are “branded” as my name.
When I look in analytics at the last 6 months of Acquisition/Search Console/Queries on my website, iterations of my name are the #1 and #10 query. Should I be doing something with that? I think I should, but I’m at a loss on how to do this.
How does one optimize SEO in posts to include your own name, or the name of your brand – as opposed to the name of a recipe or an alarm part – if it’s an active search query? Or should I leave it, and focus on art technique queries?
Your encouraging podcast has changed the way I create posts, increased my organic traffic and therefore my affiliate income! You’ve both made a big difference in my understanding of SEO, and strategies for content building. I’m incredibly grateful that you carve out time in your already busy schedules to record and broadcast your wisdom for all of us.
Thank you again!
Belinda
