This week on #TubtaNabadda, we find out more about how legal aid projects implemented in Puntland help people and communities have better access to justice, through free legal aid services, mobile courts and dispute centers. We interview Hawa Omar Mohamoud, UNDP Somalia National Justice Specialist, about how mobile courts work to reach people in remote areas, and the positive impact of the project in Puntland. She also shares plans of expanding the free legal aid projects to other federal member states in Somalia. We also interview Bukhari Mohamud Mohamed, a lawyer who works with the Puntland Legal Aid Center, about what inspired him to be part of the project. He tells us how the Center helped to reduce illegalities and conflicts, and what needs to be done so that more people, and women in particular, can benefit from free legal aid.
