Among the telltale signs of a narcissist is their remarkable lack of empathy. Their emotional pantry is bare of compassion and understanding, as if someone forgot to stock it. Imagine this: you are sharing all your fears and vulnerabilities with them, and all they can do is stare blankly and say, "Hmm, that's interesting." Ink on their empathy pen has dried up ages ago, so it's as if they're holding a clipboard and ticking off boxes for "empathy" and "concern."
