Yoga is not about being able to do a headstand. It is not about accomplishment, the beauty or serenity of the yoga studio, or yoga pants. It's about healing, nourishment, learning, compassion, and growth.

Yoga is a practice. One that integrates body and mind.

It is not about the pose it is about who you become in the pose.

What you do with your body has a profound effect on what you do with your mind. What you do with your mind has a profound effect on what you do with your body.

Yoga encourages a proactive rather than reactive approach to health. It can help address chronic lifestyle and stress-related diseases and is low-tech, portable, and generally safe. Check with your doctor to find out if it is safe for you.

Yoga can also potentially bring healing to the healthcare system itself.

By improving outcomes for many specific conditions, it can decrease demands on the healthcare system. When offered to those who work in healthcare, yoga decreases stress, builds community and connections, and promotes healing and self-compassion. Listen to the episode to find out more.
