Dr Lisa Cherry is in this conversation with social worker Jonny Hoyle where we discuss how AI isn’t the future; it’s the present. Social work needs to have the difficult conversations and steer the destination rather than waiting, not knowing or misusing it.
We explore how the work around this is in two parts which should interact; technology and ethics. We need to use technology for the things we decide it should do, not necessarily for what it could do.
We also talk about record keeping and the role of AI not just for the child now, but for the adult that the child will become.
