January 11th, 2021 is National Human Trafficking Awareness Day here in the United States.

Human trafficking is a crime in which force, fraud or coercion is used to compel a person to perform labor, services or commercial sex. It affects all populations: adults, children, men, women, foreign nationals and U.S. citizens, and all economic classes.

According to the Department of Defense, an estimated $99 billon is made annually from sex trafficking, with an additional $51 billion per year from forced labor. There is an estimated 21 million people worldwide that are victims of forced labor and 4.5 million victims of forced sexual exploitation.

Today's episode, I am joined by a very great friend of mine, Sara LaChance, CEO & founder of, Stop The Movement.

Stop the Movement is a 501(c)3 that exists to eradicate human trafficking in Tampa Bay through education, awareness, and community.

Sara LaChance is an advocate for social justice and women’s rights. She has been involved in the anti-trafficking fight from a distance for many years and felt prompted to do more. God laid a vision on her heart where a community of likeminded individuals came together to create real and lasting change in Tampa Bay. Human trafficking affects us all whether we know it or not. She believes that we cannot sit silent any longer without doing something.
