There’s been a massive shift in the collective

since the pandemic.

We have been isolating ourselves.

Often when stuck in challenging emotional states,

unable to make sense of our unresolved wounds,

we tend to want to isolate and hibernate.

If you’ve ever craved deep connections with relationships,

but also noticed a deep sense of fear of connecting and tendency to isolate—

then that makes perfect sense why.

From a Neurological perspective,

if you’ve never had the experience of primary caregivers

who could hold space for and help you move through difficult emotions

and anxiousness,

then you’ll find a comfortable cocoon with isolating.

The problem is— this dissociation IS a trauma response,

also known as the Dorsal Vagal Pathway,

which simply means that the Nervous system uses a protective

pathway that just causes us to shut down from feeling and emotion.

This kept us safe in childhood from emotional pain.

But unfortunately what kept us safe from emotional pain in childhood—

is what blocks us from love in adulthood.

This is why we get to a place wondering why our relationships don’t really work.

Because deep down we are disconnected from OURSELVES.

So we try to heal by watching videos, reading books,

and thinking this is going to shift our Nervous System State

back up into safety.

It just can’t work that way. Not by a long shot.

The way out of that “swamp” is done through the very thing we are avoiding:

CONNECTION.

We block love from ourselves, and in order to experience love FOR ourselves,

we MUST show up and be contained in a space of love and connection.

In Somatic healing work, we call this a “Ventral Tether”— someone or a group of people

who are themselves on the path of raising up their inner “frequency” into a state of authentic

connection with themselves— and an create a Safe Container for you to be witnessed.

When you do, your shame dissolves.

You realize that the experience you’re having is PERFECTLY normal, and doesn’t mean

there’s something wrong with you.

Your life force energy comes back online, and your heart opens to the world.

The biggest obstacle is making your healing THE priority.

No one can do this for us,

And yet we CAN’T do it alone.

The work is to find a guide who’s walking the path of breaking this intergenerational cycle—

and DECIDE that even though this cycle didn’t start with you,

it can end with you— so that you can one day be the “ventral (safe)” Tether for others and help

alleviate their suffering without having to abandon yourself to do it because you’ve finally been guided

to find safety within yourself.
